More Crazy Weather
Had another weekend of crazy weather. Chris went to Gainesville with his dad for the NHRA Races. The kids and I were just hanging out watching tv on Saturday night when I heard a loud bang on the roof. Out of nowhere it started hailing golf balls and raining. While the cats and Mindy the dog ran for cover Tweek and I went to the front porch to watch. Little did I know that there was a tornado 2 miles in front of me and another about 5 miles beside me. I had no clue until the next day. We lost power until the next morning. But we were lucky. Chris called from his parents house on Sunday afternoon so I could come pick him up. When I started to drive down the road it was closed. I was like what in the world. So I called Chris to tell him that I had to go around it would be a little longer. When I turned the corner I was like oh my gosh. I said it looks like a dang tornado came through here. Chris said it did. My heart jumped to think I was standing on the front porch while this was going on. It looked like a warzone. But we were lucky. Nobody was killed and all our friends and coworkers only had minimal damage. Some still don't have power but they are just thankful to still have a house. There were some houses completely gone. And the electric towers were just rolled up into balls of metal. We both have hail damage to our cars. Chris' truck is really bad so we put in insurance claims. But we can't deal with the local office because this is considered a catastrophe. So this should be fun getting the cars fixed. I guess sometimes you just have to feel lucky. It could have been so much worse.
