Kane Graduated from Swimming

Kane graduated from swimming lessons on Thursday. He passed the shrimp level. We got a little certificate. And a little memory book to put his picture in. She said he is awesome and thinks he is going to be a fish. He loves the water. Still a little hesitant to lay on his back but other than that he has fun. I am glad we did it. Going to be a little harder to keep him in water in Nebraska due to the weather but we are going to give it a shot.

Kane 9 month appointment

Kane is now 29 inches and 21 lbs. We made the nurse weight him on two different scales because he sure feels alot heavier than that to us. The doctor said he thought Kane would be taller by now but he said you never can tell when they will get a growth spurt. He thought he was going to be tall like me. But we still have alot of time. He didn't have to get any shots but when we got there he had a fever so they poked his finger to get some blood. Didn't bother him at all. But they put a band aid on it and he didn't know what to think of that. He kept wiggling his finger. He finally managed to chew it off a couple blocks from the doctor office. He had a high white blood cell count so they put him on some antibiotics. His poor little knees are look horrible from all the crawling he is doing. He doesn't let anything slow him down. He stands on his own for a couple seconds but once he realizes that he let go he will grab back on really quick.

Kane Swimming

We did life jacket training at swimming today. Kane actually really liked it. I thought he was going to fall asleep floating in the water. Chris let him go and he just floated away. It was cute. He did good until Chris dunked him in the water. Then he was mad and it was over. He didn't want to do anything else. But he needs to get used to going under or he won't want to when he gets older. He has a little temper. It is funny sometimes but I hope it doesn't get bad. They also worked on getting them to reach for objects. He did pretty good. He stood on his own for the 1st time because the water held him up. It was cute when they were sitting on the stairs because they were reaching for rings and there was a little boy sitting on the stairs and he was acting like he was looking away but he was pushing Kane's ring closer to him. I guess the little guys have to help each other out.

Swimming lessons

Swimming lessons...he is a good little kicker

Swimming lessons

Swimming lessons

We started a new swimming lessons class on Monday. The previous class wasn't right for Kane. We went to one and a half lessons. The girl had no clue what to do with an infant. So they had us go to the morning class this month. It is 100% better. Kane doesn't like going under water but it is getting better. He also would never let us put him on his back before. She showed us a way to get him to lay back and it worked. He is a good little kicker. You can tell he has been in the water more than the other kids. Chris swam with him the first two days. Tomorrow I am going to get in with him. They showed us how to get him to float on the noodle and learn head control and balance. He was pretty good at that. They are suppose to teach them how to roll over in a life jacket tomorrow. They also have been showing us some things to do when he is a little bigger. Alot of this class is teaching them trust and how to be comfortable around water. The water actually helps teach them balance. The instructors daughter is crazy. She is 18 months and acts like a fish. She is constantly going under water and jumping around. It is really cute.
