SEC Championship Game Dec 1st 2007

We got tickets to the SEC Championship football game for free. Not only were they free but they were in the clubhouse seats on the 50 yard line! They were awesome. We got spoiled. In the Georgia Dome the clubhouse seats are only about 30 rows up from the field. It was great. My team had the lead until the very end of the game and then managed to lose. But I don't feel to bad since the team we lost to is playing for the national championship. It was a really good time. Hopefully one of our teams will make it next year and we can go again. It was also the 75th anniversary of the SEC so they had special things going on before the game.

Florida Football 11/24/07

Another exciting weekend of football. I don't know what I am going to do in a month when it is over. I love this game. We got Florida vs Florida State football tickets as a wedding gift. They were great seats. 20 rows up on the 20 yard line. Unfortunately I missed the end of the Tennessee vs Kentucky game. But that was probably a good thing. I can't imagine what my blood pressure would have been. I wore my Tennessee sweatshirt proud in the field of blue. I was just given some tickets to go to the SEC championship game in Atlanta this weekend. I am soooooo happy. We couldn't afford to buy tickets. They are selling for hundreds of dollars each. We have been lucky this year and gone to 5 games. Only had to buy tickets for 2 of them. That is awesome. Hopefully Tennessee can play like I know they can and whoop up on LSU. I was sad to see Kansas lose this weekend but hopefully Missouri can go all the way. I was really glad to see Callahan go!

Tennessee Football 10/27/07

We had great seats for the game. We were only 30 rows up from the field. They played the overtime on our side of the field so that was awesome. It was an exciting game. I yelled so hard my throat hurt the next day. Chris about lost his arm when SC missed the field goal to win. I was so darn excited. Gotta love this game!

Tennessee Football Weekend 10/27/07

We went up to Knoxville, TN this weekend for the TN vs SC football game. It was a big game for the SEC. Chris had been really sick the last week and shouldn't have gone but he did and he was a trooper. He didn't complain until around 11 at night when it got down to the 40's and the wind was blowing. Doesn't sound cold for you in Nebraska but that is freezing here. Our friends are big SC fans. So we hung out with them before the game. After the game they weren't go happy. TN 27 SC 24! YEAH

Florida Gators vs Tennessee Vols 9/15/07

This was a bad day for me! It was 96 degrees and we were in the sunshine seats. That is actually the name for those seats. So you can only imagine. I now know what it feels like to wet your pants. But I didn't actually have to wet them. We bought shirts before the game and they ended up being our sweat towels. It was bad. But you need to support your teams. So we stayed til the end. Chris was actually very nice and didn't rub it in. FL 59 TN 20

Thanks to everyone that traveled to our special day. We wanted a small wedding and it was perfect. I hope everyone enjoyed the day.

All over

Well we are back from the wedding and honeymoon. It has been a crazy two weeks. I have been trying to find time to do the blog but we just got back on Sunday afternoon and I had to go back to work right away. Lucky Chris has the week off. We had a great wedding. Couldn't have had better weather. The weather on our honeymoon was perfect also. The football game on Saturday wasn't so perfect. Chris' Gators made my team look like a bunch of wimps. But I guess we have next year.

They threw a wedding shower for me at work. You all know how much I love attention. NOT. But it was fun. Chris was working nights so he got out of coming. The funny part was that we invited they men and they seemed to have more fun then the girls. They were really excited that they got invited. I got alot of really good gifts. A friend here at work made me a cake and it was awesome.

Florida Football 9/1/07

Went to Florida this weekend. A lady at work had tickets for the Florida Gators football game that she couldn't use so we took them. Chris had never been to a game at the Swamp. It was fun. We spent the night with his aunt Becky in Jax. When we got to Gainesville he got to see a family friend that he hadn't seen in years. So that was nice. She was very nice and got us free parking across from the stadium. Her dad is a former coach for the University of Florida so we went and met him. That was fun for Chris. He had wanted to meet him for a while. I am glad that he finally got to meet him. He was really happy.

Wedding Progess

Things are finally starting to finish up. We ordered my wedding band and I was surfing the net and found the ring that Chris had wanted. It is the same design just instead of all gold it is gold with highlights. But I actually like it better then the all gold one. So that was exciting. We got his shorts and we got the wedding license and we already had my dress so now all we are waiting on is his shirt. Only 1 month to go. Can't wait for the day to get here and for the next day to come so we can leave on our cruise. It is extremely hot down here so I am hoping it cools down a little by then.

Safety Lesson for the Week

I would like to share with you the safety lesson for the week.
When wearing shoes with plastic spikes and stepping on wet wood make sure to step against the grain. Stepping with the grain can cause the following injuries, bruised, swollen, and scraped knees and ankles, bruised arms, and self esteem issues. So the key lesson is always step against the grain.

Went to the Dr on Friday and she said everything is great. She said I actually healed up faster then expected. She said things were already going again so she thinks we will be back in her office in Sept. She wants us to wait until then to try again but she doesn't think it will even take a month once we try again. We will see.
Man who would have thought that finding a neat men's wedding band would be so hard. It looks like we are going to have to get a custom ring made that won't be ready before the wedding. So we are going to get a plain band for now and talk to the jeweler on Friday about making the one he really wants.
I was going to surprise Chris with a cruise to the Bahamas but he found out about it. I was kind of bummed because I wanted it to be a surprise but at least this way I can find out what he wants to do on the islands so we can make plans.

Got a call from the jeweler today. They can't make Chris' ring. We are really bummed. Have spent several hours on the internet looking for another one and not having luck. Frustrating with only having a month and half before the wedding. But we will find something. My dress came in and it almost fits perfect. Although I am still on a mission to lose weight before the wedding. Now if my boobs would just grow I would be good. We registered at Target.com tonight. The registry is under Chris Haar or Shannon Loos. I think that is all the registering we are doing. We just aren't into this traditional stuff. Chris lost interest after about 5 minutes.

Feeling well today. My lungs and neck hurt but I am assuming it is from the breathing tube. Hopefully I will be back to golfing in a couple days. I think Chris is ready to go. Getting kind of antsy.
Wedding is making progress. Got rings done, ordered Chris a shirt, and ordered my dress. So we are getting close to being ready. Just need to get the photographer and we should be ready to go. I am excited and just wish the day would get here. Hopefully it will before Chris changes his mind :)

Well surgery is done. It went well. I don't really feel bad just really tired. We had a really bad storm last night and didn't have power from 5-10pm. So by the time we got showers and to bed it seems like it was time to get up. 3:30am comes really early. We were only at the hospital for about 5 hours so it wasn't bad. All the dr's and nurses were great. I really thought I had great care. I even got a bonus shave!

Well it looks like no baby for now. We went to the Dr today and had another ultrasound. We will be going in to the hospital on Thursday to end the pregnancy. It looks like my body has already started the process but it will be much easier to surgically have it finished. The Dr did a great job of letting us know that this is really common and said we could try again in Sept. She said that 15% of 1st time pregnancy ends this way. She said she could almost guarantee that it won't happen to us again. So I guess it just wasn't meant to be this time.

Now it is on to the wedding planning. Although I have learned that you shouldn't make a man look for dresses. Sorry Chris!

Well we got my ring on Friday. Chris thinks it is to small. I think it is to big. I am not used to wearing things like that so it will take some getting used to. But I love it. I thought doing a small wedding would be a piece of cake but there are so many things we need to get done. I don't know how people have big weddings. But I can't wait. I have waited 30 years for this day.

Update on the baby. I have had several people ask why we haven't said much lately. It is hard for me to share my feelings so I have kind of kept to myself. But last Monday we went in to hear the heartbeat for the 1st time. It didn't go as planned. We found out there may be some complications. So they did some extra tests. We are going in tomorrow for another ultrasound and more tests. Hopefully we will understand more what is going on and maybe everything will be just fine. This just isn't the way that 1st time parents expect things to go. But we will get through it. We will keep you all posted.

Big News

Chris and I went to the Dr on Thursday and found out for sure that we are going to be parents. The due date is Jan 31st. We are really excited. Chris went to the exam with me. It is great to know that he will be there with me through the complete process. We both are new at this so it should be a great adventure. We go back in on July 2nd to hear the heartbeat. So far I am feeling really well. I guess I am lucky. Oh yeah the other big news is we are getting married Sept 8th. We are having a small cermony on the beach. I have never wanted a big wedding. In fact everyone that knows me well thought I would just run off and get married. So we have alot of life changing events happening in the next year. I am already kind of crazy so I hope I don't go off the deep end.
